Welcome,

I am Clarence Parks. I am a Professor in the Sociology Dept. at Adams State College. Please use the navigation buttons on the left to find out information regarding my classes, college life, and family life.

I have a Ph. D. from Texas A&M University and I have been at ASC since 1983. I mainly teach Sociology of Education, Social Pyschology, and Intro to Sociology. More than anything else, I am interested in the sociolgoy of everyday life. Currently, I am doing work on the skills required of liberal arts students and, in conjunction with my wife, a human behavior guide for new K-12 teachers.

My out of school activities include a lot of guitar playing, hiking, and large amounts of reading, ranging from Harry Potter to Emerson, Louis L'Amour to Joseph Campbell. I'm always looking for a good read - so if you have any suggestions, come on by. Or if you need something to read, come on by and I will give you a list of 15 or 20 books you must read!
I look forward to meeting you and having you in my classes.

Clarence Parks Ph.D.
Professor of Sociology
